Food & Clothing donations
The Flushing Christian Outreach Center provides food and clothing to those in need within the Flushing community. Their vision is to respond to the needs of the whole person with the goal of inviting them into a relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
As the economy weakens, local needs increase and Living Word is dedicated to helping our community by collecting non-perishable food items and new/gently used clothing. Please place donations , marked FCOC, on the counter in the kitchen.
Heartbeat
Heartbeat provides support for single moms and moms-to-be and we're lending a hand by collecting items needed for newborns. Donations such as diapers, formula, blankets, clothes, etc. can be placed in the baby bassinet located in the Fellowship Hall.
forgotten man
Jesus tells us that we are to go and make disciples of all the nations. This of course includes jail inmates. We must follow the example of Jesus who ministered to people who are sick with sin. Today, Forgotten Man Ministries follows in Christ's footsteps by bringing the healing powers of the Great Physician to those incarcerated in our Michigan jails and prisons.
Bob Blaylock organizes Living Word's involvement with Forgotten Man Ministries. The group visits Genesee County Jail every Friday.
